Job Description:
Set up and adjust production equipment on a diversified product line having close dimensions, shape and contour. Ensure first-run parts are produced in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements. Diagnose and remedy press or die malfunctions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Setup and adjust equipment. Inspect, install, remove and adjust safety devices on all machines and equipment as required. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and remedy press or die malfunctions.
  • Inspect first-run parts, checking weight and density, dimensions, shape and contour with precision instruments.
  • Periodically check parts during process runs and make all necessary machine adjustments to produce parts under specified quality requirements.
  • Perform in a production capacity on an as-needed basis.
  • Develop and document standardized setup procedures and troubleshooting concepts of new jobs.
  • Install necessary fixtures, tools, coolant accessories, material conveyance systems on machines and equipment.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Mechanical and process knowledge in powder metallurgy, Cincinnati high tonnage press operations, equipment set-ups, product and shop procedures, generally acquired in 3-5 years of progressive, related experience.
  • Satisfactory completion of high school or technical college education. Proficient in use of advanced shop math and formulas, ability to read and interpret simple to complex part drawings and prints, job setup sketches, and specification sheets.
  • Knowledge on inspection procedures, use of standard/special precision measurement instruments, and test equipment.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude for disassembling, adjusting, and assembling components to equipment.
